Vans “Nightmare” Sneakers Are A Must Get

Nov 26, 2019

By Amy Sciarretto

Vans remains one of the coolest sneaker brands. In addition to its signature slip-ons and skate shoes, the brand remains vital courtesy of its killer collabs. Vans has partnered with KISS, Hello Kitty, Peanuts, Marvel, Vivienne Westwood, and David Bowie over the past few years. The Vans x The Nightmare Before Christmas Sk8-Hi sneaker is the shoe behemoth’s latest “must get” kick.

The Sk8-Hi is red, black, and blue, with white contrast stitching. It features Jack Skellington’s trip to the Holiday Woods where he stumbles upon the Holiday Doors leading him to Christmas Town. It’s like a storyboard on your sneaks — and this pair is bound to start a conversation in any room in which you walk while wearing them.

This $75 kick comes in both adult and toddler sizes, and men and women can wear them. So the whole family can be decked out in Vans x Nightmare footwear. The little ones in your life can be the best kinds of mini-mes with this look.

It’s also the perfect shoe for prom season or even a wedding. If you want to wear fun footwear with your formal attire or you simply hate dress shoes or heels, you can personalize your look with this style.

Vans isn’t the only lifestyle and streetwear brand killing it with collabs that cause two elements of pop culture to collide. Converse, known for its classic basketball shoes, also brings it when it comes to partnerships. I love my OPI x Converse high-tops, which are all black, save for a dusty pink sole that was inspired by the popular nail polish brand.

Who needs a boring white sole when you can have a millennial pink one?!

Converse has also dropped Batman, Hello Kitty, and Millie Bobby Brown collections in 2019.

The beauty of these partnerships is that you retain the classic look of the original silhouettes. But the details are always next level without being extra. It’s a brilliant way to show off your fandom through your footwear.
