Whether we realize it or not, we actually are in the middle of Spring right now. And although most of us missed the cherry blossoms blooming around the city, spring makeup trends were still pulled from the soft, pastel flowers that speckled around the cities, announcing the arrival of all things new and fresh. Makeup artist, Liam Dunn, was fully aware of its presence and pulled from the inspiration of sunrise and sunset, the colors of the sky, for this beauty story exquisitely photographed by Ron Beaver.
“Soft and pretty”, explains Liam Dunn on his thoughts for this editorial. “I thought of early Spring colors that are approachable, rather than a color block, I thought of harmonious colors, bright but blended softly with no hard lines”. The blending also allows for a more user-friendly approach as it’s beautiful for all age ranges.
For the lips, Liam complimented them with the eye shadow. “Dewy, kissable, sensual, and well-hydrated”! He didn’t want the lips to overpower the eyes, because for him, the eyes were the focus of the story. And for Aubrie’s skin, Liam kept it light, “with her perfect skin, there was no need for heavy coverage”. And let’s face it, with Spring here, warmer weather and the feeling that Spring gives us normally, which is hope, we are shedding a lot of things right now, both internally and externally, so there is no need for anything heavy that weighs us down.
