New York Junk’s “Doing Time in New York City” was chosen as the #1 Record Of The Year by Joe Whyte at Vive le Rock and Gus Ironside at Louder Than War.

Max’s Kansas City and CBGBs alumni Joe Sztabnik of New York Junk wrote the original version of “Poison Heart” with Dee Dee Ramone.

As a founding member of The ‘B’ Girls, bassist Cynthia Ross toured with The Clash, The Ramones, The Dead Boys and Blondie and also sang back-up on Stiv Bators’ “Disconnected” and Blondie’s “Auto American.

Drummer Gary Barnett completes the trio and adds the secret sauce to New York Junk’s signature sound. Gary played in Joe’s first band Zabnik, and their premiere gig was a spot on CBGB’s 1975 Christmas Festival opening for Johnny Thunder’s Heartbreakers.

Today, Sylvan Esso have announced the release of their third full-length album Free Love, to be released September 25 on Loma Vista Recordings, and shared the music video for new song “Ferris Wheel.” The new 10-song collection thrives on collaborative frisson. Wielding power in delicacy, the duo of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn push one another into new territories with shared assurance, resulting in the group’s finest work to date.
“We are thrilled to announce our third album, Free Love, will be out 9.25.20,” says Sylvan Esso. “It’s a record about being increasingly terrified of the world around you and looking inward to remember all the times when loving other people seemed so easy, so that you can find your way back to that place. This first single, Ferris Wheel, is about discovering your power and awkwardly figuring out how to wield it. It’s for the summer, it’s for you, we hope you like it.”

“At the heart of Sylvan Esso is this really fun argument,” says Amelia. “Nick wants things to sound unsettling, but I want you to take your shirt off and dance. We’re trying to make pop songs that aren’t on the radio, because they’re too weird. It’s a pop band, but we’re talking about complicated emotions.”
While their celebrated first two albums were born from a delineation in creative roles – Amelia the lyrics and melodies, Nick the chords and beats – Free Love is Sylvan Esso’s first true “band” record: two voices fused together. The album also represents, by turns, the duo’s hardest-driving (“Train,” “Numb”) and most meditative (“Rooftop Dancing,” “Free”) work yet as it unfolds over two distinct sides. It was written, recorded and produced at Sylvan Esso’s own studio, built in the woods in North Carolina after the release of 2017’s GRAMMY-nominated What Now.
Sylvan Esso has produced some of indie pop’s most enduring songs in recent years and just achieved a career milestone by crossing a half billion streams worldwide. Their last album, 2017’s What Now, debuted in the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 and earned the group their first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic album. In a New York Times profile on the band, Jon Pareles noted that Sylvan Esso “keep electronic pop human.”

Los Angeles (July 21, 2020) – Los Angeles-based indie pop singer-songwriter Teddi Gold has today released “Bossa Nova Baby” ft. Latin duo Mi$HNRZ, the second single off her upcoming EP Vol. 2, which is set for release this fall.

“There are a ton of exciting voices in pop music right now, which makes it more of a challenge to stand out among the crowd. Los Angeles singer Teddi Gold has managed to do it on her debut EP” – Uproxx

“Teddi Gold displays a refreshingly attentive take on modern pop, meshing bass-heavy Caribbean theatrics with innovative top 40-tinged hooks and commentaries on society”
 The Line of Best Fit

On “Bossa Nova Baby,” a slinky and summer-y groove shakes under Teddi’s hypnotic delivery. The track comes on the heels of Vol. 2’s debut single “Confetti” and “BOOM BOOM,” an anthem for equality Teddi released in honor of Pride Month and to support the Black Lives Matter movement. All streaming proceeds from the song will be donated to the ACLU.
In 2019, her single “Cash” paved the way for her debut EP Vol. 1. In addition to widespread praise, Teddi landed on Spotify’s coveted Fresh Finds and Pandora’s Top Hits Playlist. She was also proclaimed a “promising artist” by Pandora’s Next Big Sound. Maintaining this momentum, she joined forces with producer Jon Buscema, Drew Alexander and Jack Ventimigilia and further shaped and sharpened her unpredictable and undeniable pop for Vol. 2.
